BIO 29, the 29th Biennial of Design, takes place from 3 December 2026 to 4 April 2027. Organised by the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) and the Centre for Creativity (CzK), this edition is curated by Martina Muzi, with Associate Research Curator Ro Pérez Gayo.
Titled Soft Fields, BIO 29 explores how knowledge embedded in research, industry and infrastructure can be opened up and shared through design. Moving between institutions and everyday life, the biennial examines how design can reveal hidden processes, translate specialised knowledge and create new relationships between people, systems and environments.
Rather than offering fixed solutions, Soft Fields positions design as a collective practice—one that works within complexity, negotiates uncertainty and responds to the social, ecological and economic realities of the present.
