The research stage of the BIO27 Production Platform teams is in full swing. A joint research workshop between Atelier LUMA and BC Materials with BIO27 team Krater group was held between 16th and 19th March at Krater, a temporary production site that emerged from an abandoned, crater-like construction site near the city centre of Ljubljana.

Atelier LUMA conducts research around questions related to architecture and materiality, while BC Materials transforms excavated earth of construction sites into building materials. In the context of BIO27, team Krater, is exploring architecture from rammed earth and plans to create an event place in form of a teahouse. At the joint workshop, the team focused on researching ways to create bricks made from rammed soil with the appearance of a terrazzo.
